Are Health Units targeting your families Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving is only a few weeks way the Toronto Star is reporting

NORTHERN, ONTARIO  ``  September 25, 2021  (LSNews) The Toronto Star reported on September 16th that New COVID-19 contact tracing measures quietly implemented earlier this month by Durham Region’s top doctor require anyone who hosts a social gathering to compile information for those in attendance – and provide the information to the region on demand, under threat of hefty fines.

The Toronto Star story goes on to say "A social gathering is defined as a gathering or two or more people who do not reside in the same household. The new rules came into effect at midnight Sept. 11 and will remain in place until the medical officer of health deems them to be no longer required, according to the health department.

Failure to comply with demands for contact tracing information could lead to a $5,000 per day fine for individuals and daily penalties of $25,000 for businesses, according to information provided by the health department.

After hear fearfully from Thunder Bay Restaurant owner about how they are being threatened by the Thunder Bay Health Unit demand that they check a person's Covid Passport every time they enter their coffee shop. If the restaurant owner is reported that they did not check someone passport even though they know the person by name they checked it yesterday they will be fined.

Ontario reports 653 COVID-19 cases as 7-day average continues to drop

We are  not sure at this time how this will affect Family Thanksgiving Dinners in Durham Region’ or here Thunder Bay but if you are planning on having family over at $5,000 fine is a lot of money
